I received a good response to my recent pics of young black swans on the banks of LBG. I returned today in the rain and took some more as well as a shot of a rosella in an olive tree. Hope you like them:

They have warning signs up about those NPH magpies, apparently they snag a lot of food from the unwary.
Ever seen the Magpies at the eatery at Parliament House? They are savage! I’ve never seen such ballsy birds.
Nice to see a king parrot. Oddly, I’ve never seen any up here but I do have tons of cockies, galahs, and assorted rosellas. and black cockies but they don’t come for seed.
If eating chips outside in Jindabyne, be sure to guard them as there’s heaps of voracious seagulls there, too.
And I’ve seen parrots at Falls Creek!
Photos must be near Yarralumla, as I’ve noticed the King Parrots are back in large numbers after spending the previous months elsewhere.
The white ducks are an introduced species and those are purple swamp hens in the last picture.
Seagulls in Canberra always make me laugh. I drove past Checkers food van in Belco the other night, it seems to be popular with the Seagulls.
Nice pics WBJ. The birds would have enjoyed the rain today …
The second pic is fantastic – love the way the leaves are in focus but the parrot is still very clearly visible.
Thanks for these. Hope you had a weather-proof camera …
Aww, birdies. I think the second one is a king parrot, not a rosella though 🙂
