Saw this sign for a garage sale in Cook.
Mark “I can arm wrestles old men” Latham has gone down in the world, obviously.

he and the current crop of, err, leaders are prime examples of the notion that one who is inclined to politics should thus automatically disqualify him- or herself from doing so.
I kinda liked Latham. It was at a time when I was too young to be very interested with politics, but he seemed more like a real human-being than pretty much any other politician in the country. An arsehole of a human-being. true, but I still appreciate that more than the slimy, disingenuous people that all seem to be attracted to politics.

While I hate saying this, in some ways Mark Latham doesn’t seem so bad anymore when compared to all the turds that have followed him into Labor leadership since he was shown the door.
Yet his approval ratings were better then MrRabbot’s are now, and he is leading a party that would almost certainly win an election held today. Crazy times.
Ah, the conga line of you-know-whats is out in force …
Reminds me of the time back in the late nineties when Latham jumped into my cab in Manuka and i subsequently drove him to Queanbeyan. He certainly wasn’t backward in using colourful language on the way over there and the piece de resistance was that he chose to water the garden out the front of the property without batting an eyelid as i drove away.Somewhat unbecoming for a minister i thought.

How he even made it to leader of the party shows how Australia is struggling to get quality people into politics. (happens on both sides)
