Good shot.
Without wanting to divert the thread this shot reminded me to warn cyclists of nearby TAMS mower drivers. Last week I had one pull a hard right straight across the cycle path without looking. I had to go bush on my pushie just to miss him and his blades…..
Unlike certain private mower companies on our main roads, I’m sure govvie mowing contractors don’t run down cyclists deliberately – the lycra really gets snagged badly around the blades and takes ages to untangle and clear out of the mechanism.

As for the 250w dig, They’re all road registered.
They are not considered road vehicles for the purpose of the MVSA so the 250w thing doesn’t apply : http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/vehicles/imports/legislation.aspx
They get a conditional registration which is basically a payment for TPI.
Those guys always travel in little gangs. 3 mowers operating reduces the amount of time they need to spend creating dust and noise in one place, they can have a single “team leader” and a couple of junior drivers to avoid workers slacking, and small maintenance issues can be addressed easily in the field without having to return to base.

I do hope you have a bell! It’s the LAW.
That must have been terrifying. Did he help you afterwards?
The rider most probably needed a bigger louder bell to be heard above the noise and ear protection of the lawnmowing person.
