The Canberra Tall Trees Motel in Ainslie has a new owner with Redhill Hospitality Group extending its footprint into Canberra.
The four-star motel in Stephen Street, operated under the Ainslie Ibis Styles brand, will now be repositioned as the Tall Trees Ainslie Motel.
It is Redhill’s first property in the national capital, although it does have the Crest Motor Inn in Queanbeyan.
Tall Trees is Redhill’s 13th property in a motel chain that now operates across Queensland, NSW, the ACT and Victoria.
The new ownership plans a soft refurbishment of guest rooms later in 2025, the conversion of an existing meeting room to a gym, and upgrades to the garden and street frontage.
Redhill Hospitality Group CEO Guy Peterson said the group was thrilled to integrate Tall Trees Ainslie into the Redhill Hospitality family.
“Our vision is to build upon the strong foundations already established, while undertaking a significant investment in the property that will ensure Tall Trees Ainslie continues to meet the changing needs of our guests. We cannot wait to welcome both returning and new guests,” Mr Peterson said.
Tall Trees Ainslie features 83 guest rooms pitched at corporate and leisure travellers, including families and groups.
The property is located within 10 minutes of the city centre, and Canberra Exhibition Park (EPIC), near Canberra’s major attractions and a short walk to the Dickson dining precinct.
Redhill focuses on regional motels through outright ownership, leasing or management arrangements, specialising in rejuvenating properties.
According to the compeny, Redhill sees regional motels as an untapped opportunity for growth, investment and revitalisation.
“Despite the increasing demand for regional accommodation, many motels remain undermanaged and undercapitalised, presenting a unique space for strategic transformation,” it says.
“By leveraging our expertise in operations, renovations, and market positioning, we unlock value that others overlook.”
