end of an era. i reckon this all started with the e-stalking/threats from some nutbag that frequented TSSH about a year (?) ago.
Cut from a post by Caz on TSSH:
“You might have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on here over the past month or so. I’ve had a lot of stuff on my plate with work, family and ongoing health problems. This is looking set to continue for the forseeable future. Coupled with the fact that The Hack and I are increasingly finding that running this website is a chore and not as much fun as it used to be, we have decided it is time for us to call it a day.
Stuck in hospital a few weeks ago, I had time to take stock of various things in my life and it was then I began considering whether I wanted to keep TSSH running. Instead of pulling the pin then and there, I decided I’d give it until the end of the month to see whether I’d change my mind. The end of March has now been and gone and, guess what? I still feel the same. I don’t feel like doing this anymore. I talked to The Hack about it and he feels the same way.”
“It’s not the end of TSSH altogether. The lovely Tealou is taking over the domain name and will continue to run the site, albeit in a slightly different format from what you’re used to. It will primarily be a forum, which is good news for the community of people who like to hang out here and gasbag. “
“The Hack and I will also be starting a new site in the next month or so, when our life settles down a bit and there’s an end to the chaos that’s been going on at this end for the past 6 weeks. One with subject matter we’d prefer to write about – the sort of stuff that would get you bitches whining and complaining if we posted on it here – and that won’t need the constant monitoring this one requires. You know, where we’ll be able to step away from the computer for a day and not have to worry, for example, that someone will have repeatedly defamed a Supreme Court judge in our absence. Or where we can go on holidays for a week and come back and discover that all hell did not break loose. That’d be sweet. “
i’m in the same boat as you maelinar – have been unable to access TSSH for about 6 months 🙁
To those of us who have naughty site filters that don’t allow us onto TSSH – is there an abridged version of why TSSH is now cocaine fodder ?
