Friday 17th of May was international day against homophobia (IDAHO)
The chalk was in the shape of a Y for their campaign homophobia. Why? (Information from Facebook)
I’ve found a lot of people in canberra do not believe that we still have issues with homophobia. This is incorrect. Especially in schools, where LGBTIQ youth are often bullied to the point where they even have their property stolen or graffitied. Try to imagine what it’s like getting names keyed into your car, or graffitied on your car, for the whole world to see. This sort of thing still occurs.
Bullying happens to lots of kids. The issue is the bullying, not the reason someone might be different.
Symbolism is pointless? Great news! Lets burn down all the war memorials; we don’t need them anymore! Also the flags, and the medals and crucifixes.
Actually, the whole rainbow movement has become a bit passe, darlings. The front page of this week’s Sydney Star Observer features the headline “We need reform, not rainbows”.

The point is, it’s time for full equality for LGTBI folk. Simple really. The rainbow is a reminder and a statement.
“Oh, someone’s chalked a rainbow on the pavenment, I must remember to give LGTBI folk full equality.”
Balderdash.

Can’t wait ’til DUB sees this, he’ll surely have some pearls of wisdom to impart on the matter.
I may well not publish them however.
DUB’s output is often too vile for publication.
