The weekend looms like a bird of doom.
What’s on this weekend worthy of a RiotACT reader’s valuable leisure dollar and time?

I’ve heard rumours the ACT ALP Conference is on this Saturday, but don’t know where and Google is no help.
I think I found where the ACT ALP Conference will be held:
From an email (media alert) received today
—– CPR Inc Media Alert —–
Canberrans for Power station Relocation will be rallying at Rydges, Lakeside from 8am on Saturday 26 July as delegates and members arrive for the ALP (ACT Branch) annual conference.
We will be handing out the attached flyer that summarises the community’s position on this critical issue.
CPR Inc is a community association representing the more than 4,500 Canberrans who have signed the petition tabled in the Legislative Assembly.
Media Liaison: Dugald Holmes
Mob: – number removed –
—– Release ends —–

No Merry Muse this Friday as the Polish White Eagle Club is undergoing renovations.
There is, however, a very good line-up at the Folkus Room at the Serbian Club in Mawson. Susanna Carman has had a hell of a tough few years, but she’s channelled all that tragedy and the end result is her new album ‘Holy’. I met Susanna briefly at a regional festival somewhere in the last 12 months and was very impressed with her set of original music. Susanna is supported by Australian vocal legend Margaret Roadknight. Friday 24 July, doors and bistro from 6.30pm. $20/$15. Details here: http://www.thefolkus.org.au/Folkus_program1.html
And if your radio has nothing better to do on Sunday morning from 10am to midday, tune in to Artsound FM (92.7/90.3 in T’nong) and keep me company while I present ‘Patchwork’ — that’s two hours of music; it’s not a quilting program…)
Lyp Synching World Champs Heat at the Irish Club Weston.
Friday Night 8pm (?)

Ha ha, I can be rude now as my neighbours have two heads and are looking forward to the dawning of the nineteenth century.
