Energy efficiency help for business

Simon Corbell has the happy news that small and medium business can now get into the Energy Efficiency Improvement Scheme (EEIS):

“The EEIS, which started in January 2013, requires electricity retailers to meet energy savings targets,” Mr Corbell said.

“This can be achieved through activities such as installing highly efficient space and water heating, lighting and standby power controllers in Canberra homes.

“Now energy retailers can also offer energy saving measures to Canberra’s small and medium businesses under the scheme,” Mr Corbell said.

The expansion of the EEIS caters for energy retailers who do not have residential customers, and in doing so, increases the scheme’s potential for reducing green house gas emissions.
