What happened is sad for friends and family, but even at the age of 16 (raised and and educated well) one would know to NEVER get in a car with a drunken mate behind the steering wheel.
Yes, most of the times you will get home safe, but there will be one time when you will not….

I’d contest this point actually. If you’re drunk yourself, it’s difficult to make the judgment as to how much your friend has had to drink/has been affected by drink or other substances. And if you and that friend have a prior agreement that they will be the designated driver…

It’s not all black and white.

Agree 100% with other commenters – this is a young person who has lost their life, and they weren’t drink-driving, they weren’t doing drugs, they were doing nothing illegal, in all likelihood they didn’t even do anything stupid except get in a car with someone they trusted to do the right thing. These comments are disgusting and hurtful and most of all, unnecessary.

My most sincere condolences to the family and friends.

In disbelief re the insensitive and disrespectful comments above. Pls show some more decency.
