I meant $7,000. But $4200, that’s not bad.
That $7,000 I had in my mind must be for another airline’s club.
I haven’t heard anything about QANTAS suddenly making it free, or planning to.
Remind me, the huge annual fee or my favourite… the life membership fee of $77,000 or whatever… it covers what?
To anyone wanting to use it outside the club. Set your self up just next to the wall of the terminal on the tarmac. Great reception ($5 a hour if your a Telstra customer. Great place to check your emails and play Internet Backgammon until security run at you, guns drawn asking why your yelling “I’ll kill you all”. 🙂
P.S. If anybody is wondering why I was yelling “I’ll kill you all”, the jerk who I was versing online did an illegal move.
Neando, it was free in Melb QC last week when I passed through, so maybe things have changed more broadly.
Yeah they use telstra and its always bugged me why they charge for this when like in Singapore airport you can get free wireless allover. All be it not in the Qantas club though unless you’ve got some range extending device in your carry on.
Also, nothing yet mentioned on the QANTAS website, just the usual Telstra wifi (charges apply) stuff.
Free wifi? You have to pay in every other QC around the country. Better to use the Business Centre, that way you have free printing, copying and faxing too.
No chance they would have the routers spread around the club with wireless power turned down. They probably choose Canberra because they know its not a place where people linger in the Qantas club for to long because its not transit airport as such. Most people arrive well I do anyway with minimal time to waist before the flight. Usually enough time for a quick beer to help with the hangover from the previous nights festivities lol.
