I think its naive to think the same doesn’t happen for the liberal party. This is by no means an exhaustive list of donations made. While maybe not as obvious at ACT level, it happens at federal level.

And despite the farce of “consultation” over the sites, when the CM kicks it off with a photo op on the UC site with Mr Parker, it’s kind of hard to believe the decision hasn’t been pre-made.

Look, it may be better now, but surely no one could disagree that the combo of the GDE and Gininderra Drive makes the UC location faster for almost everywhere in Canberra – including (most of) the inner North? Then again, maybe once the new majura bit is done…..
I don’t live in either belco or gunners, so I have no real bias – i’m quite neutral on the matter. Speaking of which, how about you? Probably the last person to say their favoured option is neutral and in the best interests of all Canberrans? 😉

I love how a transparent, public domain donation of ~$1000 is apparently enough to bribe the govt to his way!
Logically, it’s hard to argue that the land at UC is not a more central and useful location for the sub-acute hospital than gunners.
The argument that ‘we need something out there’ can’t trump that, can it? Are there other arguments too? Has gunners got a higher proportion of elderly people and/or nursing homes where many pts. may be transferred from?
I’m not sure about the cost difference for both bits of land, but i’m sure someone compared that before making the decision too? You’d hope so!

You’d think so, until you look at the table and see that there are separate ‘ACT Account’ and ‘Federal Account’ columns, and all the donations appear in the ‘Federal Account’ column.

So I don’t think that title is really very clear at all.

Gee, IGA Supermarkets donating to Labor at the same time the ACT Government is going all out to punish Woolies and Coles and give IGA prime sites in the name of “promoting competition”.
