Minor arrested for involvement in arson and burglary at Phillip Enclosed Oval

Police have arrested a minor for their involvement in arson and burglary at Phillip Enclosed Oval on Monday night (8 October) which destroyed $200k of athletic equipment.

Around 6:30 am on Friday morning (12 October), officers executed a search warrant at a Garran home. As a result of the search of the house, police arrested a young person in relation to a burglary connected with the fire.

The minor will be charged and is expected to face the ACT Children’s Court today.

Police are still investigating the incident and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have dash cam footage of the park or surrounding area between 10 pm – 1 am on Monday night.
