A 22-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision on Brindabella Road.
An ACT Policing spokesperson said that emergency services were called to Brindabella Road, south of Uriarra Village, at about 4:50 pm on Wednesday (3 December).
“Despite the efforts of witnesses and ACT Ambulance Service paramedics, the man was declared deceased at the scene,” the spokesperson said.
Police say their early investigations suggest he collided with a Honda SUV.
ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances of the collision.
A report is also being prepared for the Coroner.
The 22-year-old is the eighth person to die on Canberra’s roads this year, and it is the fourth incident that has involved a motorcycle.
On the same day in March, a cyclist died after a collision with a car in central Canberra, and a bus and motorcycle collided in Nicholls.
The following month, a man from Sydney died several weeks after being involved in a single-vehicle crash in Watson.
Over the October long weekend, a Palmerston 56-year-old man failed to make a right-hand bend in the road and hit a tree. He died at the scene.
In the fourth fatality, a pedestrian died in late September after being struck by a light rail vehicle.
In October 2025, a 78-year-old man died after being hit by a reversing truck at the Mugga Lane Resource Management Centre.
As the location is considered a road-related area and regularly accessed by the public, police say it is being counted as a road fatality.
Last month, a 29-year-old Taylor man died when the motorcycle he was riding hit the rear of a parked truck in Mitchell.
There were 11 road deaths in 2024.
Police also ask that anyone with dashcam footage of the area between 4 pm and 4:50 pm come forward.
