A 36-year-old McKellar man suffered a broken jaw after being robbed and assaulted by three men at Florey shops last night (Sunday, October 16).
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to the incident which occurred about 7pm near the carpark of Florey shops. The man was sitting down eating a pizza when he was approached by three men.
After a brief conversation with the men, the victim was punched in the head, knocking him unconscious. While unconscious the victim was robbed of his wallet, containing a sum of cash and credit cards.
The only description the victim was able to provide of the offenders was that they are Middle Eastern in appearance and aged in their mid 20s.
The victim was conveyed by ACT Ambulance Service to Calvary Hospital for treatment. It was determined by medical staff that the man had sustained a fractured jaw in the incident.
Police urge anyone who may have been at the Florey shops around 7pm last night or anyone who may be able to assist police with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
