Fair call, but I’d assume if there were mobility issues, there’d be a disabled parking permit on their dash and thus no need for a parking ticket. I didn’t check out what it was ticketed for, but I’d assume it was overstaying the four hour limit, or sans ticket to begin with.

The problem is twofold – increasing urban density means that new carparks are built with smaller individual parking spaces, and cars are getting larger. For example the current Holden Cruze (classified as small car) has roughly the same external dimensions as a late 80’s Commodore (classified as a large/family car).

I’d think that if this was a booking for not parking within the lines, that the driver would have an excellent chance of getting the fine overturned, given there seem to be none.

There’s always the possibility though, that the fine wasn’t for anything of the sort, and they’d just overstayed their ticket time – or didn’t have one at all.

Maybe they’re just too stupid to park properly?

There appears to be a line on the ground on the driver’s side the sort of distance you would normally park away from a dividing line. I call reasonable given the state of dividing lines. Again the Canberra sh1ty council shows us how useless they are. Jam your art, we just want healthcare and municipal services.

They couldn’t use the car parked behind them as a simple guide to where the lines MIGHT be? sheesh….

I was just about to write this – of all the examples of bad parking posted up here, this is probably the least egregious.

However, the car on the left is parked at the end of the row, and there is a line visible next to the car on the right…

Perhaps this person has never parked in a car space before so couldn’t figure out how much room should be between them and the next car? Or perhaps they were a parent with a pram…?
