Police investigate death of 74-year-old woman found in 'extremely poor' conditions

An investigation has begun into the death of a 74-year-old woman who police say had been residing in “extremely poor” living conditions.

Paramedics took the woman to the Canberra Hospital on Tuesday (1 July) after a family member sought assistance for her.

“She was experiencing multiple medical and physical conditions,” an ACT Policing spokesperson said.

The woman died the following day (2 July).

The police spokesperson said an investigation had started to examine the circumstances of her death, with a search warrant executed at the woman’s home in Gordon revealing “extremely poor living conditions”.
