I’d really like a reasonable timeframe to evaluate Rudd’s new ministry before the election, but then again I was over this election in March and want it over with.
Bit of a pickle…

Why didn’t Jesus save Senator Conroy – after all the effort Conroy put into trying to sanitise the interwebs?
Conroy can eat my s***. That man had no idea about anything tech wise. He also ran a hate campaign against the interwebs in general, video games, and small breasted women(and the men who enjoy small breasts).
Eff that man, he can eat my poop forever.
But who else will save society from those horrid, nasty men who like to view pr0n and play vidya games from the privacy of their own homes and who in doing so do not harm anyone else. And as for small breasted women, well, they’re just not matronly enough. All women should, by decree of Stephen Conroy, be called Brunhilda and have the stature of a Fernando Botero nude; anything else is indecent and only encourages pederasty.

And, where’s the Minister of Working Families?????
That would be the PRIME minister.

Since when has knowing anything about your portfolio been a requirement for a Minister? There are too many examples where it would be a big liability!

surely whyatt earp from wa is of an age to use the remote control while surfing the net and listening to wicked tunes on his i-pod, so tech’d up to the max? o right, he’s a young thug, err liberal…
I would have thought he would know more about gun slinging and cattle rustling

What about Turnbull, isn’t he “Mr Broadband”?
He’s Mr Fraudband.

Oh gawd so poor old Arts just gets hoiked along with whoever.
well, big tone is at least a genuine supporter of the arts, so it is in good hands, even if the hands are attached to a weird body!
i’m assuming the goverment agencies won’t be mog’d and we’ll be back to the beginining again – portfolios with two agencies, agencies with two ministers. what was that about deja vu again?
They’ve long stopped bothering to MOG arts, email-wise anyway. Arts are still on the PM&C email system …. and weirdly sitting between various departmental web identities. So Tony Burke pops up on the Regional website as one of the ministers …. even though Arts is no longer part of Regional … but part of Environment. Clear signal that no government is going to bother with Arts.

And…I find myself agreeing with Masquara. Mondays can be weird like that… 🙂
But what portfolio should it go with I wonder?
Lundy deserved the arse after the ASADA ‘let’s smear everybody with the same brush without having one bit of concrete evidence’ fiasco

Actually, there’s a method behind the madness.
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship can now be legitimately abbreviated to DIAC with the addition of Arts. What a pity we can’t have Department of Agriculture, Infrastructure, Resources and Youth (DAIRY). They could milk it for all it was worth…
Well that would have largely been Crean’s department, so I guess he can cry over it!

I’m guessing Rudd wants a Ministry that won’t argue with him.
He’s probably just letting his Mini-Me have a rest, until after the election.

Kate Lundy is happy and sad…
They should have just named 21 ministers for electioneering to get us through the next 3 months.
So now the big question is will there be Departmental shenanigans to align with their Ministerial portfolio breakdowns? DIICCSRTE loses the CC (stupid place for it anyway); Employment (part of DEEWR) and Skills & training (part of DIICCSRTE) are now under O’Connor (gawd help us) and Arts and Immigration are now under Burke, surely they can’t combine those two in one Department.
Is it worth printing new stationery to cover the next couple of months?
He’s forgotten Penny Wong, becasue that’s how propoer process also works!

How smart was he for publicly declared he’s be voting for Gillard in the spill?
When you’re Parl Sec for the PM’s office, at least you’d try to hedge your bets in case your second choice became PM, no?

Well at least that way he’ll get a couple of months or so of carte blanch..

I would have thought it would be more important with 2.5 months to go for the relevant APS to be planning policy than desks.
Haha. It’s not about policy, it’s about marketing.

So it looks like Andrew Leigh was deemed too close to the PM in the previous role of Parl Sec Assisting the PM, and has been dropped. Dumb move. He should be assisting Penny Wong IMO.
Kate Lundy has some input on Broadband but loses Sport. As much as could be expected given their close alignment to Julia Gillard I guess… And of course the “no paybacks” claim was always going to be bunkum.
Plenty of science people very happy to see Kim Carr back in the Science portfolio. Knows it, lives it.
Although it makes perfect sense to have Climate Change back with Environment (why were they ever split?) I would have thought it would be more important with 2.5 months to go for the relevant APS to be planning policy than desks. Are there any other MoG changes?
Demotion for Kate Lundy by the look of it. Andrew Leigh getting the arse, nothing for Gai Brodtman.
