Canberra’s busking legend Owen Campbell got a shot on the final of Australia’s Got Talent last night after a rocky road to the finals.

Owen is not accurately portrayed on this show. If anything vote for him because he refuses to live anywhere else despite us all trying to coax him away. He is Canberra through and through. When so many other acts seem to think a move to melbourne or Sydney will be the component that makes them big, here is a solo act with major label interest coming to him. He is a goose, but you won’t get any argument from him there either.
Sigh, I guess they couldn’t have Canberra backing musos forever.
Far out there is no charisma on that judging panel. Danni Minogue looks like she OD’d on embalming fluid.

3 good reaons to vote for him,
* I think his music is great.
* I’d like to see that talentless hack mcfaddens face if he won.
* Always good to hear music that isnt a copy of most ‘popular’ music.Say what you like about his music, he’s got a pretty good record at scoring a good squeeze.
+1 Im one of them

why on earth would i want to vote for this arrogant fool?
Because he came up with one of the greatest put down lines of all time.
“At least I didn’t join a boy band” or words to that effect.
I think it was “It’s not my aim to join a boy band – chief”.
I think it was the chief at the end that really made it awesome.
He derserves 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

I just remember seeing that guy several times in Civic and how much it brightened up my day.
More singing, less talking Owen! 😛 Good luck in the competition, your musical talent is excellent.
It’s one thing to do dance routines to or sing someone else’s music. It’s another thing entirely to write and perform your own original pieces. And Owen does that really well. That’s why I buy music off him when I see him in the street. (That and I just love slide guitar…)
Good luck Owen – hope you’ve saved your best til last.
The full comment probably should have been: “It’s not my aim to join a boy band – chief; so I decided instead to sell out completely by entering a ‘talent’ quest where my nearest competition is probably going to be some skank who sounds just like Lady Gaga, or a Pacific Islander that thinks he’s a gangsta from Detroit”.
I haven’t watched much of the series but saw it last night. I really enjoyed Owen’s performance and he certainly is very talented.
But if I were going to vote it would have to be for the 9 year old drummer Jagger. Now there’s one talented individual. He’s just amazing.

I stumped up my 55 cents to vote for him. I like his music, he’s local, and he shares a name with my son. Those three things got me over my embarassment at participating in anything to do with AGT.

Because he’s a great guy? To support local talent? Because you like his music?
