UPDATED: Alleged temple tyre slasher hunted by police

UPDATE, Wednesday (13 August): A man accused of slashing car tyres outside a temple has been identified.

ACT Policing said he is expected to be charged with property damage offences and face court at a later date.

MONDAY: Cars parked outside a north Canberra temple were damaged earlier this month, resulting in police starting a hunt for the tyre slasher.

They have released a photo of a man they wish to speak to over his alleged involvement, as well as a video of a slashing.

There were multiple reports made of slashed tyres at a temple in Florey at about 9 pm on 4 August 2025, an ACT Policing spokesperson said.

“Following enquiries, police are appealing for the community’s assistance to identify a man captured on CCTV allegedly damaging tyres,” they said.
