Gig Cancelled: Datarock, ANU Bar, Wed 5-Mar-08

Well….yes, it was. If the venue & promoter stood to lose money, then the most likely cause would be thanks to an over-the-top performance fee for Datarock. They could always have dropped their fee if need be.

Lame. Buzz on campus was it was going to be big with tickets bought at the door. Now the buzz has become a grumble.

We’re so sorry the show got canceled, but it really wasn’t up to DATAROCK at all. The venue and promoter made the decision based on the fact that they were all looking at a big potential loss. Basically nobody was picking up tickets.

DATAROCK’s just in Oz to play these shows so for us it’s a real disappointment two out of eight got canned. Hopefully we’ll be back soon though, given the opportunity.

I saw datarock play last time they were here, they were awesome. This sucks!

Yes – I particularly like their song which goes:

Finally some good music comes to Canberra and they pull the pin at the last minute, that sucks!
At least Midnight Juggernauts are still playing at UC on Friday night!
