The Melbourne Cup is almost here, stopping Australia in its tracks as we all watch the most exciting racing event of the year.

Though we are far from the action in Canberra and don’t get a public holiday, there are still plenty of venues across the city that celebrate the grand day.

Fashion on the Field at Thoroughbred Park is a no-brainer, cocktails and a canape menu at Midnight Hotel is a seriously tempting option and the Southern Cross Club has great offerings across the capital.

Available by pre-order only, this is a great way to enjoy the races with a full spread of delicious eats and, of course, the races on the big screen.
