Congratulations to him!

Well, I’m prepared to buck the relentless tide of cynicism and offer my belated congratulations. Economics isn’t my field, but I’ve read a couple of Andrew’s published works and found them interesting.
Isn’t that a bit like being awarded Best Australian Iridologist under 40, or Best Australian Naturapath under 40?
Definition of an economist according to the Urban Dictionary:
“one who, starting from a position of over-educated and under-informed logical supposition, commences making erroneous and devastating judgements about the functioning of the world, and then formally codifies their misunderstanding in dogmatic and arrogant absurdity”
Seems to fit the nominated person.

‘idiotic street party’ that should read.
If you’re calling something idiotic, it pays to proof read.
Incidentally, I think he’s really hanging out for the Australasian Party Planners Association Medal of Distinction (aka The Gold Pinata). That’s why he’s moved on to idiotic street part invitations from the dreary world of economics.
Another oldish thread reborn; some people just can’t get enough Andrew Leigh, it seems.
Ah yes, why be an economist when you can stuff up thousands of people lives when as an elected MP you can stuff up millions!
That’s Best Australian Economist under 40 who is one of the 1400 members of the Society. It narrows the field a little.
