Mayhaps the final Trivia in the Trams at the Tra dies on Monday night from 7pm at Dickson. Free entry. Cash and voucher prizes, a bit of fun, and the usual ritual humiliation of people who think they’re going to ‘rock off’ in the paper/scissors/rock challenge. Special subject for the last round: Comics, graphic novels and anime (all very much clean, above-board and acceptable to your maiden aunt — hell, we had a table of Catholics from my old parish in the other week!)

Will TiTTaTT be extended past the second round of six weeks? ‘Tis in the lap of the gods, yea and verily.

P.S. Canberra has so much more going on every night than Albury. After one faux Irish pub (where every 18 year old in Albury is tonight) and ‘The Bended Elbow’, I think I’ve exhausted the possibilities on a Thursday evening. Yay for the bottle-o two doors down from the hoey-moey.

Trivia nights just got extended for another season. It was to be six weeks, but I have an interstate commitment on the night of Monday 15 December, so the trivialities continue up until Monday 8 December, probably pausing for a deep breath from then until the new year. Probably?! Definitely. The coast and Woodford Folk Festival beckon the quiz-master south-east and north.

Had a top night last night in the Trams with eight teams. Good result for a quasi-public holiday night. Special subject next week: ‘The Simpsons’.

Try Sailing Day

A “Try Sailing Day” will be held on Sunday 2 November to encourage anyone to try sailing as an additional or alternative outdoor sport and/or leisure activity. Come along to the Canberra Yacht Club between 10am and 1pm on Sunday 2 November and take the opportunity to enjoy a sail on a yacht on Lake Burley Griffin. We envisage that those wanting to have a sail will be on the water for up to 30 minutes. There are no costs involved for participants in the “Try Sailing Day”.

Those persons wishing to have a sail will be required to register on the day in the marquee on the lawns of the Canberra Yacht Club, where they will be allocated to a particular yacht. All Try Sailors should wear a T-shirt and shorts, old soft-soled shoes (white-soled if possible) and bring a spray jacket, cap or hat (preferably with chin strap) and sunscreen. The Canberra Yacht Club will provide yachting ‘life-jackets’ and Club Members will assist participants in boarding/alighting from yachts and answering any questions. The Club’s ‘Rescue Boats’ will be on duty and a first aid officer will be on hand. A parent or guardian should accompany students under the age of 18.

Oddly enough I looked pretty similar as that bloke at the time, and wore similar styles.

I’ll never forget the night he got recognised in Civic and bashed, right near The Bin. What a shocker (both the guy AND the fact he got bashed for being a tosser on the ad).

Lake Tuggeranong College is presenting The Who’s Tommy – the first rock opera. Wonderful show, I’ve seen it every night so far, and I’m still loving it.

3 shows are left – Friday 7.30pm, Saturday 12pm, Saturday 7.30pm.

Adults – $20
Concession – $15

Definately do not miss this show. An extraordinary effort from some very talented young people. Worth every dollar you spend – especially considering $15 often gets wasted on a bad movie. The money you spend seeing this show is far from a waste.

And if you know the words, feel free to sing along 🙂

Also, the launch of 2008 NaNoWriMo is on at Pancake Parlour on Saturday (if you’re a writer who values quantity over quality)

Plus, being the 1st of the month, Saturday’s an important day for pinching and punching
