Andy informs us that Google’s Streetview has been updated for Canberra. The photos are still out of date, but the resolution much improved.

looks like you can still drive straight through the wall of the overpass on parkes way onto liveredge street.
What?
Noticed my number plate was legible. Reported the image using the link at the bottom and it was blurred within about an hour. Nice work Google.
(I don’t particularly care if it’s legible or not, I was more interested in how quickly they would act.)
They must do multiple passes – remember getting pinged by a car early last year – doesn’t show up now though.
It’s pretty surreal that on some separated streets in commercial areas they’ve updated one side but not the other yet. So you can watch the street evolve.

This is probably the update that RA users noticed back in Dec 09. http://region.com.au/anyone-else-see-the-google-street-view-car/16793
My own comment suggested that the photos in my area were taken on 8th december 2009. I actually saw the google streetview car a couple of times that week, including on the weekend (12/12/09) at batemans bay, which has also been updated with hi-res imagery. Ive found myself in at least 3 streetview captures at different locations so far.
Yeah I think so. My place is built (unlike previous Streetview) but the garden barely going so around two years back.

My area hasn’t changed, the images are sharper etc.
The old Kambah High school is still being used, and my street contains residents cars that sold up their properties many years ago.

I suppose they need time to process images and plot all those WIFI networks they hacked into.
It takes a long time to process images.. why, just ask Nearmap.

For a second I thought that was my old Vectra, But it’s not.
In other news, Looks like they went past my old vectra!
The upgrades to the images have only been done in the last three days maximum. I’m a reasonably heavy user of Streetview and the last time I was on it was Monday, looking at an address in Civic. Same place now is Hi Res.

Looks like it was done on a bin night at my place. Must be a while back, there is now a block of flats up the road where Google SV shows a house. I suppose they need time to process images and plot all those WIFI networks they hacked into.
Don’t be silly, they didn’t mean to capture and store all that information…

New imagery of my house – taken around Christmas time given that our decorations are visible.
Looking at my place that is correct
It is Christmas ’09 though, my builders ute is in my driveway.
+1
I can see the large star on our front porch my late sister helped me put up.

I noticed this just yesterday, and wondered how long ago they changed it. Does anyone know? From the look of my place, pretty sure the “new” photos were taken in the first quarter last year…
