Miranda has sent in evidence that should bring some joy to the ski fiends out there.

Yes indeedy that’s a light dusting of snow! As in stuff that falls from the sky not out of the barrel of a snow maker.

Sounds like there could be an inaugural RiotACT Kosciuszko bushwalk brewing?
Thanks Miranda. I think I shall have to bring my winter pjs too.
What do non-blokes wear to keep warm, then Hasdrubahl?
It was two degrees at 9am at CP when we left, and 5 degrees when we got back in the arvo. The ranger reckoned it was -9 wind-chill factor on the Main Range ridge… I think she might have been exaggerating by about 5 degrees…….
Rug up! Specially if it’s windy!
“That said, early snowfalls are not a good portent! We got them last year, too.”
Too true! Last year I walked from CP over to Blue Lake in knee-deep snow in April. People were skiing down the side of Kosi. Then nothing.
Yep – the view of the Main Range from Charlotte Pass. I did the 21km CP-Koz-Blue Lake-CP walk on the weekend. Extremely cold, extremely windy and marvellously exhilarating!
Damn, I only just stopped using the air conditioner. Lousy un-insulated house. :/
It would be a first to have 2 dreadful seasons on the trot, so this year should be good. Also if there’s more rain happening, ditto. That said, early snowfalls are not a good portent! We got them last year, too.
Yank seasons just about everywhere have been very ordinary. We got spring as soon as winter gave up, mid Feb. But it’s about to snow here so hopefully it’ll hang on a bit longer.
Looks like the main range, with Kozzy being possibly the second peak from the right side. Photo taken from Charlotte Pass area, maybe?
Great pic! Where was this taken? …and if you know what mountains are we looking at?
Everyone should pray for good snow this year.
The mountain economy will thank you, and the dams will thank you for the spring snow melt.
Hurrah! *sheer immediately dons hat and jacket and starts inanely humming ‘I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas’*
