Police are hunting for three youths after a bizarre alleged theft at a McDonald’s fast-food restaurant, where an EFTPOS machine was apparently yanked out of an ordering kiosk.
The incident was caught on CCTV, which ACT Policing have released to the public.
A police spokesperson said three boys entered a McDonald’s in Phillip just before midday on 30 July 2025.
“One of the boys is alleged to have stolen an EFTPOS terminal from an ordering kiosk,” they said.
This boy is described as wearing black pants, a black jacket, and a green and beige cap.
Police are seeking the public’s help to identify the three boys captured on CCTV footage.
“As the individuals in question are believed to be under 18, we have blurred their faces due to legislation that prevents the identification of young people and a criminal incident,” the police spokesperson said.
